Chairman’s Message
Respected Member Brothers and Sisters,
Warm Greetings.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I extend a heartfelt welcome to all of you attending the 37th Annual General Meeting of Sahakar Bhushan Dhanvantari Urban Co-operative Credit Society Ltd. This 37th Annual General Meeting, organized on July 24, 2026, intends to review the financial position and overall operations of the credit society for the period from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. It gives me immense pleasure to present this comprehensive review in the form of this annual report. The entire Board of Directors and the staff members have worked with utmost precision, diligence, and study to prepare this report, and their contribution has been lion's share. We are deeply aware that this has been achieved through your constant cooperation and participation.
If we look at the loan interest rates of our society, they are lower than or at par with commercial banks. For the past several years, our set targets for loan disbursement were not being met. However, since the Board of Directors introduced lower interest rates—particularly for Gold Loans, featuring minimal interest rates and higher loan amounts per gram compared to competitors—our outstanding loans have reached ?150 Crores. This excellent success was achieved because our staff also worked relentlessly towards expanding loan disbursement. I am confident that you will all continue to support us as we set a future target of ?200 Crores for loan disbursement.
Regarding deposit growth, the Board of Directors formulated an exceptional policy and offered attractive interest rates, resulting in excellent deposit growth. I request all of you to take advantage of these attractive and high interest rates by investing your deposits, and also to encourage your relatives, friends, and business associates to deposit their funds with our society. On behalf of the Board of Directors and the staff, I assure you 100% safety of your deposits, because over the past 37 years, Dhanvantari has operated with transparency and excellence, earning the deep trust of its members and depositors. This year, the Board of Directors has set a business mix target of ?500 Crores and a deposit target of ?250 Crores. To achieve this, I request Vice-Chairman Dr. Kant Phadtare, the entire Board of Directors, staff, depositors, borrowers, and well-wishers to work together and extend their full cooperation.
Thanks to the efforts made throughout the year by the staff and the Recovery Committee in line with the policies laid down by the Board of Directors, there has been an excellent recovery of overdue and non-performing loans. Consequently, our Net NPA has dropped to 0%, while the Gross NPA has come down to 12%, which is 3% below the required regulatory limit (the standard limit is 15%). In this loan recovery process, we received outstanding support from Vice-Chairman Dr. Kant Phadtare, all Directors, legal advisors, borrowers, guarantors, and the entire staff—especially the Recovery Department and the Satara District Federation. In fact, this milestone was only possible due to everyone's cooperation and joint efforts; my heartfelt congratulations to all of them. We expect the same level of cooperation in loan recovery during the current report year as well.
As a result of effective loan recovery, our profit margins have witnessed robust growth. After making all statutory provisions as per rules and keeping expenses to a minimum, the society has earned a record net profit of ?5 Crores 4 Lakhs this year. This marks an increase of ?2 Crores 78 Lakhs in net profit compared to the previous year. The entire credit for this success goes to Vice-Chairman Dr. Kant Phadtare, the Board of Directors, the Recovery Committee, and the entire staff, as well as the borrowers and guarantors who aided in timely repayment. I express my sincere congratulations and gratitude to all of them. For this year, I request all members to grant their approval to the Board of Directors' recommendation of a 12% dividend to the shareholder members.
A substantial amount of secured and unsecured loans still remains overdue. Vice-Chairman Dr. Kant Phadtare, the Board of Directors, staff, the Recovery Committee, and the recovery officers of the Federation are actively reaching out to them. I earnestly request all defaulting borrowers to clear their dues, cooperate with the society, and help us avoid initiating strict legal actions for loan recovery.
During the year under review, we achieved record disbursement in Gold Loans. Gold loans are made available easily, quickly, and with minimal time and documentation. I urge you, your relatives, and your friends to take advantage of this dual-benefit scheme—offering the maximum loan value against gold alongside the lowest interest rates—through Sahakar Bhushan Dhanvantari Credit Society. I also encourage everyone to benefit from our other innovative loan schemes, such as Home Loans, Vehicle Loans, and Business Loans.
Membership of Sahakar Bhushan Dhanvantari Urban Co-operative Credit Society is open to everyone. Anyone can become a member, open deposits, avail loans, and utilize the society's diverse services. Since its inception, our society has been widely renowned as a "Doctors' Credit Society." Therefore, I request you to introduce our society to individuals associated with the medical field—including doctors, hospital staff, pharmacists, medical college staff, and pharmaceutical company employees. Please inform them about our attractive deposit schemes, loan products, and competitive interest rates. Furthermore, educate them about our state-of-the-art digital banking services to help drive the society's business growth. I am confident that we will receive everyone's cooperation in achieving our target of ?500 Crores in business mix and ?250 Crores in deposits.
The current building of Dhanvantari Credit Society is proving to be inadequate and has aged. The Board of Directors had previously sought approval from the Annual General Meeting for building renovation. This subject has been placed before today's meeting again, complete with the proposed building plan and budget estimates, for your formal approval. I request you to kindly sanction it.
During the financial year 2025-2026, all our members, and specifically Vice-Chairman Dr. Kant Phadtare—who managed the society's affairs flawlessly during my leave period—have been immense pillars of support. I express my sincere gratitude to Directors Dr. Arvind Kale, Dr. Shirish Bhoite, Dr. Shakil Attar, Dr. Hemant Shinde, Dr. Rajendra Jadhav, Dr. Abhijit Bhosale, Dr. Srirang Doifode, Dr. Jaydeep Chavan, Dr. Sou. Sarika Maskar, Dr. Sou. Harshala Babar, Dr. Narayan Tambe, Dr. Sunil Kodgule, Adv. Suryakant Deshmukh, CEO Mr. Sanjay Pawar, Deputy CEO Mr. Shrihari Dingane, the officer cadre, the Recovery Department, our bankers, branch managers, staff, depositors, borrowers, well-wishers, legal advisors, valuers, and auditors.
My heartfelt thanks and congratulations to everyone mentioned above for their cooperation, active involvement, support, networking, and seamless coordination. We look forward to your continued support in the future as well.
